Tobias Haar is General Counsel of the Gameforge Group. He graduated from law school in Heidelberg and specializes in all aspects of IT and IP law, as well as in commercial law. He holds a master in “Legal Informatics” from the universities in Hannover, Germany, and Stockholm, Sweden. Tobias joined Gameforge as early as 2008 as one of the first in-house counsels in the online gaming industry. He is responsible for all legal aspects of the group, with a clear focus on the key licensing agreements, tax matters, consumer protection and other industry-relevant regulations in an international environment. Together with his team he lead the acquisition and post-merger integration of the Frogster group. He started his career in 2000 at Clifford Chance, the largest international top-tier law firm, followed by two leading positions in technology companies. From 2010 to 2012 he was deputy chairman of a German industry association. Over the past 10+ years he has written a significant number of articles on a large variety of IT law aspects – including the new field of developing and publishing mobile apps – and is an active speaker at national and international conferences and seminars. Tobias is a member of various legal associations, including the Video Game Bar Association (VGBA). In 2013 he joined the IT and labor law boutique of Vogel & Partner as an of counsel.
