Short CV

Prof. Tilmann Kohlhaase started as a filmmaker and storyteller. The genres of his work include life-action, documentary, stop motion, 2D-animation, 3D-computeraniamtion, SFX. He collaborated on other films in the fields of writing, directing, editing and photography. The major part of his works is addressed to young audiences and composes animation and live action. Since 1996 he is also teaching animation at the academy for film and television in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Since 2004 he has a professorship for animation and game production at the department of media at the University of Applied Science at Darmstadt, where he developed the study program of “animation&game”. His main research is focused on “NonPhotoRealistic Rendering”, “Animation for Games”, and “Storytelling in Virtual Reality”.
