USK.online / Age Rating Consultant
Paul Dalg, born in 1986, studied General History and German language and literature in Potsdam. He has been working as a game tester for the USK alongside his studies for two years. From 2012 until 2013 he was part of the Test Department. Since 2013, Paul is responsible for USK.online. His tasks include providing advice and supporting more than 30 members of USK.online in all fields of online media (online and mobile games, social media, streaming, user generated content, …) as well as the implementation of technical youth protection systems in accordance with the Online Youth Protection State Agreement (JMStV). Consulting and training for Publishers and Developers that are no members of USK.online is done by him, too.
USK is the German abbreviation for the Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body, established by the computer games industry to act as the organisation responsible for the classification of computer games in Germany. The USK has conducted around 40,000 classification procedures since being established in 1994. The USK has been in operation for more than 20 years and is one of the major institutions for the protection of children and young persons in the field of computer and video games.
