Short CV

Mareike was born in 1983 in Lemgo, to the surprise of her parents, with a pencil in her right hand. Hence her career options were quite narrow. In 2007 she got her B.A. in Media Production, followed by a diploma in Motion Design in 2011 at the „Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg”. As a freelancer for commercial agencies in Europe she gained lots of experience as an illustrator and animator while working for international clients like Disney, Sony and Nickelodeon. Mareike is responsible for Art Direction at Studio Fizbin, which she co-founded in 2011. Her diploma project ‘The Inner World‘ won several awards, including the ‘German Computer game Award 2013‘, for which she now also does jury duty. In 2015 Mareike started teaching as a professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg focusing Games and interactive Illustration. The pencil in her right hand luckily never disappeared.

Studio Fizbin

Sebastian, Alexander and Mareike combined their forces back in 2011 and founded Studio Fizbin as an independent game developer. They strongly focus on story-based interaction with exciting and unique characters and worlds. Studio Fizbin has a diverse portfolio: Their heart-project “The Inner World” is loved by critics for the intense atmosphere, the smart puzzle design and the ambiguous humor. The team has also built a multiplayer-game-table for a museum, mixed the digital with the real world in the “Elephant-App” and let children stage their own opera. The studio won several awards for their projects, like the “Giga Maus”, “Tabby Award”, “Best Family Game” or “Best German Game”. Studio Fizbin is located in Ludwigsburg and in Berlin, as a co-founder of Berlins first game-collective "Saftladen".
