Short CV

Andreas began his career more than 16 years ago at Blue Byte, where he worked as a Tester, Data Wizard and Level Designer on products like Battle Isle: Andosia Conflict and The Settlers 4. He subsequently took over as Lead Game Designer on Settlers 5 and 6, and Creative Director on Anno for Wii/DS and My Fitness Coach for the PS3. In addition to leading Blue Byte's flagship titles, he also spent time researching development processes and working on smaller projects like Anno for iOS.

 

Together with Klaas Kersting, Matthias Schindler and Georg Broxtermann, he co-founded flaregames, taking on the role of Creative Director. This mobile games studio develops and publishes F2P games for all relevant mobile platforms. In 2013, Andreas also began working as a freelance consultant, specialising in creative direction, game and level design. Games that he has contributed to have won awards such as the Red Dot Design Award, the TOMMI and several German Game Developer Awards.

 

In 2014, he founded Daedalic Studio West GmbH with Dirk Steenpaß. The studio is currently working on its first title, the space-exploration RPG The Long Journey Home.

Daedalic West is a small Studio belonging to the award winning Developer and Publisher Daedalic Entertainment in Hamburg. They are a small team developing their first game which is a kind of Space Simulation RPG.
