Visit RESPAWN 2016 - Gathering of Game Developers in Cologne!
Are you attending gamescom 2016 or GDC Europe? Then also join RESPAWN - Gathering of Game Developers 2016, on August 15 + 16 in Cologne! Listen to faboulus speakers and meet developers from 40 countries, visit our great networking parties and take part in our matchmaking. Like QUO VADIS, RESPAWN is hosted and organized by Aruba Events.
The basic thought behind RESPAWN is to create a relaxed and unconstrained forum where game developers, trade visitors and students can connect and exchange ideas.
This innovative conference and networking concept was welcomed enthusiastically by more than 500 visitors at its premiere in 2013. Rather than confining speakers and their audiences to closed rooms, the presentations are held on lecture platforms spread out across the venue. This gives RESPAWN visitors the freedom to spontaneously decide, which talks and panel discussions they want to follow.
The conference's topics range from Creative, Game Design, Business and Tech to Culture/Communications and Storytelling. On August 15 and 16, a shuttle service will be provided between GDC Europe at Kölnmesse and the RESPAWN venue, located only one kilometer away at DOCK.ONE.
Location and Directions:
After the huge success in 2015, RESPAWN has moved to a new venue: The THE NEW YORKER | DOCK.ONE, a former paint factory that is now a 1.150 square meters large and pillar free event hall with an additional outdoor area. The location is in walking distance to the Cologne convention center, so it complements your gamescom and GDCE schedule perfectly.
THE NEW YORKER | DOCK.ONE: Hafenstraße 1, 51063 Cologne (Köln), Germany - Download directions as PDF
In close vicinity to the DOCK.ONE, The New Yorker | HARBOUR.CLUB is another perfect example of how industrial architecture can be transformed into a spectacular event location. The interior of the three landmarked halls combines historical elements like rough factory walls and even the original giant furnace with modern design elements.
This is where the RESPAWN Business Center is located - and where we will meet in the evenings for drink receptions and parties.
Additional benefit: In less than 200 meters distance you'll find the 4* Design-Hotel “The New Yorker”. Offer yourself or your guests the possibility, to enjoy the event straight to the end and then spend the night in a stylish ambience.

Additional events and benefits:
Aside from the main conference program, RESPAWN hosts various incorporated events and activities that you can benefit from.
Pitch & Match:
Indie Game Expo - powered by Amazon Appstore
24 playable Indie game projects will be shown at RESPAWN 2016 on invite. If you are an Indie developer, this is your chance to present your game right in the middle of the event area. Chosen teams receive 2 RESPAWN tickets and are eligible for a "Pitch & Match" ticket.
As the Indie Game Expo @ RESPAWN 2016 is powered by Amazon Appstore, the Amazon Appstore will also consider developer teams, who submitted their project to the Indie Game Expo, to present their project at the Amazon Appstore booth (public floor) at gamescom. Submit your game now!
